School Library at Colonia Volcanes in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Colonia Volcanes is a very poor community located near Puerto Vallarta. The Rotary Club of Puerto Vallarta Sur has been supporting the local school by providing English and Computer lessons. The final element of their project is the establishment of a school library for which they looked for partners.
Supported by a District Grant and in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Saskatoon, Sask., our club provided funding for this ambitious project. The result is a library that not only serves the school but also the small community. The library consists of two adjoining rooms of which one is used to house the books and the other functions as reading and community meeting/training room.
