Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre

Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre 2019

On Friday, September 27th & Saturday, September 28th back by popular demand we will be hosting two nights worth of Murder Mysteries with a different murderer each night.  This year’s Murder Mystery is called “Merlot, Meritage and Murder.”

Let us set the evening for you:
Welcome to the Okanagan!  Sit, relax and enjoy the picture-perfect views and have a sip of……scandal.  That’s right, trouble is brewing in wine country.  Big Red, the notorious owner of Red Red Winery sure knows how to live up to her name….after all she has a reputation for being bold, complicated and seductive.  But just when we thought Big Red couldn’t cause any more trouble, she was found murdered on the eve of the annual wine festival!
Everyone is a suspect in this intoxicating crime….
Enter:   The Audience.  As you arrive at the event during the cocktail hour you will notice that there are people (you may or may not know) in attendance in character who are perhaps behaving strangely and interacting with each other and you.  They’re introducing themselves and informing everyone of why they’re in attendance.  Who knows what might happen next?
The story begins and everyone is requested to take their seats.  Comfortable in their seats, the audience experiences a scripted interactive show filled with off-the-cuff and personalized moments that only come from improvisation.
What is improvisation you ask yourself?   Improvisation is when actors know the gist of the story and build their own lines around the information that needs to be divulged to the audience.  Since all the actors are Peachlander volunteers and come from all walks of life, They possess little to no professional acting abilities, which often results in total chaos and huge laughs.
The plot thickens as dinner is savored and cleared.  Its now time for the next couple of Acts and the mystery develops and clues are uncovered.  Suspects are questioned and dessert is served.  Audience members at their tables complete their vote cards of who they think “done it.”
After votes are collected and correct answers are set aside the big solution is announced and from there the case is closed.  The Murderer confesses and the actors take a bow with a prize for the table with the “best” right answer and a prize for the table with the “worst” wrong answer.

  • Location: Both nights will be at the 50+ Activity Centre, 5672 Beach Ave. Peachland V0H 1X6
  • Time: 5:30-6:30, Cocktail Hour; 6:30-7:30
  • Ticket Price: $50 pp (19+ years) . Includes 3 course dinner and murder mystery . Reserve a table for a group of 8-10 friends.
  • Tickets Available online at Brown Paper Tickets and at Peachland Pharmacy.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre 2018

Our Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre event on Saturday, September 29th was a great success.  Everyone had a  fantastic time with 106 attending.  Tickets sold out a week before the event and there was a waiting list.  Maybe we could fit more in next year!
Cast members included our Rotarians Chris Scowen as Sherlocke Holmes, Moira Baxter as Camilla Perez, and Madeleine Nixon as Simon Decree.  A big thanks also to the Master Organizer, our very own Wendy Howard.
Funds raised from this event will be used for the purchase of  appliances and a TV in the common room of the Peachland new Seniors Centre residence.  Here are some photos from the event:
